We decided to take a different approach to the classes we have been sponsoring here at Dollhouse, Trains & More. We decided on a series of 4 classes based on the theme "My Window on the World". One class for each of the 4 seasons. The idea is very simple; give the participants a window, wall, floor, table, some fun season themed decorating items and see what was created. Our first "Windows" class was entertaining and creative with so many ideas . In fact the simple idea has taken on a life of its own with each participant. It is very exciting and I am so looking forward to seeing the results as the windows start to take shape.
Class started with a very neat and basic work area . . .
. . . and then the everyone started to unpack their window work in progress.
To say I was bowled over by the beautifully presented projects would be an understatement. The creativity shown and the attention to detail was amazing. I am so happy that they all stepped away from a cookie cutter project idea to very individualized creations.
After further discussions we all agreed that the projects were organic and would continue to change. We would continue to add and tweak as necessary to achieve our individual vision.
Below are some of the windows in progress....
Aimee's Summer - Beach window.
Lea's Summer Window. Love the colors.
Aimee's Spring Window with just a few details.
Evelyn chose bold colors for her Spring Window
Karen chose to fully expand on the idea. She added an outdoor fairy garden.
These are a few of the items we were working on in class.
As I stated before these are works in progress. As an individual project is completed we will post more detailed pictures.
I want to send a special thank you to Karen for sharing beautiful mini seashells and her creative knowledge.
To Aimee for her continued support and expertise in bringing the projects to fruition.
A special shout out of support to Janice and Peg in their continued road to a full recovery. Continue to persevere through the difficult times.
A special thank you to everyone for joining in the creative challenge and having fun.
