Scale Scenic Display Design with Linda Becker

Everyone loves the amazing miniature landscape displays throughout our store that highlight our Train Dept., Dept 56 villages and Lemax Villages.  Who creates the amazing landscapes, rivers, mountains and multilevel displays you ask?  The answer is Owner, Linda Becker.  Happily, Linda is currently working on a new display that will, of course, be bigger, better and include 3 water falls!   While she's already made over 7 year-round displays for the Train Dept, Lemax and Department 56 Holiday Villages.
This new Miniature Village display promises to be her biggest and best yet!

Join us as we follow her through the process from beginning to end. We promise to have tips and how-to from Linda's 20 years of knowledge.

TIP #1: Ask yourself what is the purpose or the motivation to create this scene/display?
Linda's explained that her motivation was to display more buildings and to add a working waterfall.  It helps to design your scene around a centerpiece or focal area, in this case a waterfall.  To achieve the effect Linda whats this display will have to have a second tier built for the mountain to showcase the waterfall.  As you can see in the picture below Linda has built the begins of her mountain.  She gets right into it and and is not afraid to use those power tools.
