Now that the first floor is done, simply repeat the process for the next two floors! Just like we did for the first floor, it is important to do a dry run to make sure the next set of walls all fit together nicely. Then paint and glue together.
Now we can also start installing first floor ceiling lights, by drilling holes where you'd like them to go through the floor of the second story. If you've watched our step by step video on how to install dollhouse lights, this process will be a piece of cake!
In this house, Linda has decided to also add our working television set! Our step by step installation video for the working TV can be found here.
With all three floors assembled, Linda finishes all her lighting before laying down the rest of her floors. She has opted to keep all her walls white instead of adding wallpaper. But if you choose to add wallpaper to your dollhouse, simply follow the same technique used for floors. Make a template of each wall on card stock and glue directly to your template. If you have any electrical running on your walls, use double sided to hold your card stock to the wall so it can be easily moved.
After finishing the walls and floors, all the painted accessories can be installed! This includes stairs, interior doors, ect.
To really complete the Malibu Beach House, Linda chose to add the Sun Lounge Addition. From here, Linda put on all the finishing touches: finishing up an exterior painting, adding the cover and front door to the middle tower, adding the top floor railings, and most importantly, decorating!
And here is the completed house! Come see it installed in the center of our 20 foot train layout! Press a button to see the lights come on, turn on and off fans, and watch the working TV!
